Archbishop Nashenda is recuperating

Staff Reporter

THE head of the Roman Catholic Church in Namibia, Archbishop Liborius Ndumbukuti Nashenda, is recuperating well in the Oshikuku Catholic Hospital, Omusati Region, where he was admitted with severe COVID-19 symptoms a few days ago.

The Church issued an official update on the archbishop’s health after its Vicar General, Father Werner Afunde, visited the hospital earlier this week and reported that Nashenda was now “breathing on his own without extra oxygen support” and that the doctor attending to him is happy with the progress.

The Windhoek-based Nashenda fell ill while in the North where he, among others, officiated at a priestly ordination ceremony at Okatana.

The Church is appealing to the Namibian Nation to continue praying to God for the complete recovery of the top Roman Catholic cleric in Namibia.
