DOCTOR Ehrenst Ngarikutuke Tjiriange, was laid to rest at Heroes Acre in Windhoek this morning.
Tjiriange died two weeks ago at the age of 78 as a result of COVID-19 complications.
President Hage Geingob described the late Dr. Tjiriange as a man who had courage in the face of adversity and praised his outstanding achievements in service to Namibia.
“His sacrifice earned him a place to rest amongst those men and women we call Heroes of Namibia. The late Dr. Tjiriange’s fight for Namibia’s Independence and beyond, will be etched in the annals of history,” Dr. Geingob said.
Dr. Tjiriange was a Namibian politician, a member of the National Assembly and former Secretary-General of the ruling Swapo Party. He also served in the Namibian Cabinet from 1990 to 2010, first as Minister of Justice, then as Minister without portfolio, and then as Minister of Veteran Affairs.
