ONE of the country’s two super sprinters from the Kavango, Christine Mboma and her Grootfontein coach, inspired and united Namibians hours after they were subjected to a hard lockdown of all regions.
In yet another stellar performance on the international stage, Mboma smashed the Junior World Record for the 400 metre sprint with a time of 48.54.
The 18-year-old super sprinter won the race earlier tonight with almost 50 metres separating her from her nearest competitors of whom some are Olympic Gold Medallists at the 2021 World Athletics Continental Tour event in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Mboma’s time is the seventh fastest in history. She also broke the existing African record.
