A NUMBER of rural development projects being established with financial and technical support from the Okashana Rural Development Centre (ORDC) have produced good results.
According to the Oshikoto Regional Governor, Penda ya Ndakolo during his State of the Region Address (SORA) on Wednesday said that during the 2020/21 financial year, the Okashana Rural Development Centre has manufactured 255 appropriate technology and agro-processing products of which 189 were purchased.
Ndakolo stated that this includes millet threshers and hammer mills of various kinds.
A total of 18 community members benefitted from the chick revolving program and en community members benefitted from the chicken eggs program whereas 13 benefitted from the piglet revolving program.
“Okashana Rural Development Centre also implemented chicken, poultry, gardening projects at the cost of N$ 305 000,” he said.
