Staff Reporter

EMPLOYEES of the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) today decided to abandon the national strike demanding salary increases and return to work.

The strike, which started in April, is regarded as the longest strike yet at the national broadcaster.

Employees were demanding an 8% pay rise and an increase in transport, accommodation and medical aid allowances.

They were also demanding better working conditions and that contract labour practices be abolished at NBC.
