NEWS of the death of the 14-year-old Ndamononghenda Simon, who has committed suicide, has sent shock waves through the community of Omuthiya.
Oshikoto Regional Commander, Commissioner Armas Shivute said the incident occurred on Friday at around 16h00 at Ekulo village in the Omuthiya constituency.
Shivute noted that the deceased was at home with her aunt and other family members during the time of her death, after being absent from school on Friday.
“After having lunch, the deceased allegedly moved to a tree that is inside the yard of their homestead and was seen seated there. However, she was later found hanging from the same tree with a rope around the neck,” said Shivute.
The deceased, who was a Grade 7 learner at Onashikuvu Combined School left no suicide note.
Her body was transported to Omuthiya Police Mortuary for an autopsy.
