THE Omusati Region has so far recorded the recovery of 1 000 people from the dreaded COVID-19 after a total of 1035 positive cases were recorded.
The Regional Health Director, Alfons Amoomo, said that there are currently only 28 active cases and that the people are all in stable clinical condition.
“The number of people in mandatory quarantine is zero. However, we have 33 people in self-quarantine,” he said.
Amoomo stated that health authorities have increased their targeted COVID-19 testing in the region and increased their public health interventions.
He noted that they have also been providing mental and psychosocial support to clients and health workers.
Amoomo urged all residents of the region to comply with the health regulations protocols put in place and should report to the nearest health facilities if they are not feeling well and stay home.
