MORE than 61 San family groups are currently being relocated from the Kap en Bou and China Town areas of Grootfontein to newly serviced residential plots.
The Governor of the Otjozondjupa Region, James James Uerikua paid the project a visit and made an assessment of the relocation project.
Uerikua implored the Grootfontein Municipality to fast track the allocation of permanent residential plots to more than 61 San families through the Accelerated Land Delivery Programme.
The Governor, who was joined on the inspection tour by Otjozondjupa Regional Councillor, Marlayn Mbakera, and the Grootfontein Constituency Councillor, also visited farm Oshamalindi to assess the recent flooding which destroyed houses and other properties there.
