GRADE eleven learners who do not meet the required three Cs symbols in order to proceed to the advanced subsidiary levels may repeat the grade, provided that there is space and they are 17 years of age or younger.
This was confirmed by the Acting Spokesperson of the Ministry of Education Arts and Culture, Timotheus Mutambo, who added that the learners may also improve their results at the Namibia College of Open Learning (Namcol), or register with other academies.
Mutambo could not provide the statistics of grade 11 learners who did not qualify to proceed to the next grade, saying the figure would only be made available next week.
Commenting on the University of Namibia’s decision to not accept grade 11 learners who have passed, Mutambo said a thorough response would be given regarding their consultation with Unam,
“We consulted, although there was no agreement” he said, adding that an in-depth explanation would be made next week.
