PREPARATION are underway for the first-ever Independence tournament that was postponed last year following a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Last year, all indoors and outdoors sporting activities, including most love sports such as soccer, netball and volleyball, were put on hold as a means to curb the further spread of the virus.
Tournament organiser, Jackson Da Silva, however, noted that this year they were positive that they can move forward with their plans.
“Our mission is to improve the quality of life four our youths and communities by creating continuous economic growth through business development and inspiring the youth through Sport development,” he said.
Da Silva stated the tournament is scheduled for 20 to 22 March 2021 at the Oluno Sport field in Ondangwa.
He further noted that the event aims to bring all Namibians together and celebrate the 31st Namibian independence in style, at the same time empowering the youth and share sport experiences with one another.
Interested teams have until the 15 March to register for either soccer or volleyball.
