FRIDAY was a gloomy day for the relatives of three women who ended their lives in different parts of the north.
In one of the cases, a woman was found by her children hanging from a scarf in her bedroom at Oshikuku, while another was found by her husband hanging from a tree.
Rauna Jason, age unknown, and Theresia Naambo Shapaka, 40, are amongst four people who reportedly committed suicide by hanging over the weekend.
The others are Kaluwa Sakaria, 30, while the fourth is Jason Iyambo Iyambo, 25.
Jason hanged herself with a scarf on the burglar bars of her sleeping room at Oshikuku on Friday.
Her body was discovered by her children after they broke the lock when their mother took too long to come out of her sleeping room.
According to the latest police report, Shapaka’s lifeless was discovered hanging from a tree after an intensive search by husband and neighbours at the Oshindumba village.
“It’s alleged that the deceased left the house on Friday to collect spinach in the bushes and never returned back home,” the report reads.
Sakaria’s body was also discovered hanging from a tree on Friday at Oshiya Shemanya, while Iyambo hanged himself in his sleeping room at Okahao.
The police said post mortem examinations are currently being carried out on all the bodies to establish the exact causes of death.
