ONDANGWA Urban constituency councillor, Leonard Negonga is encouraging individuals to comply with stipulated measures aimed at safeguarding people as outlined by the government to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
His appeal comes after he noticed a group of young people sitting at a certain shebeen in a large group sharing a bottle of alcohol.
Negonga at a consultative meeting with leaders of his constituency said COVID-19 cases were reduced in the country late last year, but now the number is skyrocketing.
“It is as if people are ignoring the measures on purpose now without considering the COVID-19 risks,” he said.
At the same meeting, Negonga urged leaders to work hand-in-hand with each other for the benefit of all people they serve for the same purpose.
He said that the time is now that they should have plans development ones, plans to prosper people in villages, town, and informal areas.
Negonga also urged his community members to do away with focusing their time on spreading audio for attention seeking on social media and rather communicate their problems with the right authorities in their constituency.
