TWO incidents of incestuous rape of minors, one involving a father and another a grandfather, were reported to the Namibian Police in the Erongo Region.
In the first incident, the 48-year-old father of a five-year-old girl was arrested in Swakopmund after it was revealed that he has been raping his daughter since January this year.
According to the incident report provided by the Namibian Police in the Erongo Region, the incestuous rape of the young girl started in January and only stopped on 27 November when the police was informed about it.
Initial investigations into the matter saw the arrest of the suspect on Friday.
In a similar case in Walvis Bay, the 67-year-old grandfather of a 13-year-old girl was arrested on Friday after he too has been raping the victim on several occasions in their home since March this year.
According to the incident report, the suspects in both cases are set to make their first appearance in the various Magistrate’s Courts on Monday on charges of rape.
