THE Commander of the Namibian Police Force in the Zambezi Region, Commissioner Karl Theron, has retired from the police force.
His last day of duty was 30 September 2020.
Theron has been with NamPol since Independence in 1990 and served in various capacities across the country until he was appointed as the Zambezi Police Regional Commander.
Inspector-General of the police, Sebastian Ndeitunga, said Theron served the Namibian people for many years and retired with honour and dignity.
Deputy Commissioner Marius Katamila, who has been serving as Theron’s deputy, takes over as the Zambezi Regional Commander.
Ndeitunga stated that the newly appointed commissioner is an experienced and long serving member, who has 28 years of policing in various areas such as operation, investigation, administration and training.
Ndeitunga indicated that they will continue to render needed policing services in and around the Zambezi Region.
