THE Namibian police have recovered two vehicles that were stolen in the Oshana Region since Wednesday.
A silver double cab Toyota Hilux (N6140W), belonging to a retired senior officer of the Namibian Defense Force (NDF), was stolen at Oshinyadhila village outside Oshakati Thursday morning and was recovered at Ontana village in the Oshikoto Region during the early morning hours of Friday.
According to the police, the three occupants of the vehicle at the time it was found, managed to escape into the bushes under the cover of darkness.
The police are still tracking them. They are described as “dangerous”.
Yet another vehicle, a white Toyota Corolla with registration number N24489SH, was stolen at Oshakati Wednesday evening when three men requested David Nangolo (23) to transport them from Evululuko location to Okatana.
While on the way the suspects threatened the driver with knives, overpowered him, tied him up, and taped his mouth before driving away with the car.
The car was found “scrapped” and abandoned in the Omusheshe village near Ongwediva on Thursday.
According to the police, the thieves removed four wheels, four plugs, the cooler, and the rear lights.
