A MANHUNT has been launched for a man, who allegedly stabbed Lucas Johannes (27) in the face with a knife before fleeing the scene on Sunday morning.
Confirming the incident, Omusati Regional Police Commander, Commissioner Titus Shikongo, said the attacker is a man from the Oshuungu Village.
Shikongo stated that the victim and his niece went to sleep over at a neighbour’s house and around 00:40 while they were sleeping, the suspect allegedly came into the house and started disturbing the victim’s niece which then caused a confrontation between the two men.
“It’s alleged that the suspect then stabbed the victim above his right eye with a knife and the victim sustained a serious injury. The suspect fled the scene thereafter,” he said.
Shikongo indicated that the victim was then transported to Oshikuku State Hospital in a serious condition.
“An attempted murder case has been registered. The suspect is not yet arrested as investigations into the matter are progressing,” added Shikongo.
