Head of the Media Department at Nampol, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi stated that Police Explosive Experts embarked upon the demining operation on 24 August 2020 and are due to complete on 08 September 2020.

“The request by the Oshikoto Regional Council Education Director is quite noble and therefore extensively appreciated by the Namibian Police Force considering the fact that they prioritise the safety and security of their learners as well as that of their premises, even before school resume next week,” Shikwambi stated.

An empty canister of a smoke grenade several different calibres of live bullets, and empty cartridge were found at the school.

Shikwambi noted that the destruction process is scheduled to take place at Tsinstabis Combined School premises, on Wednesday, 2 September 2020 at 14h00.

The public in that locality is, therefore, cautioned neither to panic nor to go into close proximity because during the process unusual noise disturbance and pollution will be prevailing.
