THE Namibian Police in the Ohangwena region is on the hunt for an unknown adult man who allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl at the Eshii village in the Epembe constituency.
According to NamPol’s weekend crime report, the incident happened on Saturday 30 May.
It is alleged that the suspect found the minor at a water well where he picked her up, walked a distance from the well up to the scene where he laid her on the ground and raped her.
The child’s guardian reported the matter to the police. The suspect is not yet arrested. Police investigations continue.
Another case of rape was reported in the Kavango East region where it is alleged that a 14-year-old girl in the Ndiyona village has fallen pregnant as a result of rape.
It is alleged that during November 2019, the victim was threatened with a knife and pulled into the bushes a raped by the suspect who is still on the loose.
The victim is now seven months pregnant and her mother reported the matter to the police. The suspect is known but not yet arrested.
Police investigations continue.
A case of rape was also reported in Windhoek on Friday, 29 May at about 23:30 at Goreangab Dam location.
It is alleged that a 21-year-old female was raped by her uncle.
The suspect, who is believed to be in his early 40s, fled immediately after the incident and has not been arrested yet.
