NAMPORT human resources executive, Dr. Felix Zingolo Musukubili has been appointed by President Hage Geingob as the new Commissioner of the National Youth Service.
President Geingob announced the new appointment on Thursday and expressed confidence and trust in the ability, commitment and professionalism with which Dr. Musukubili will discharge his duties and responsibilities as Commissioner of the Service.
The Presidential appointment was done line with the National Youth Service Act (No 6 of 2005) Section 11(1) and will become effective on 1 June 2020 for a five-year term that will end on 30 May 2025.
Dr. Musukubili will be responsible for the overall efficient management and administration of the Youth Service and is expected to render secretarial and administrative services to the Board, in support of its mandate to advise the President as Head of the Service.
The President said the appointment was necessitated after Joseph Euclides Mukendwa, who was appointed as Commissioner of the National Youth Service during August 2019, did not accept the offer of employment which necessitated the recruitment of a new candidate.
