THE Namibian police in the Oshana Region are investigating a case of robbery with aggravating circumstances after the manager of the Oshakati branch of TrenTyre, the 31-year-old Lindenberg Hugo Daniel, was attacked and robbed by armed criminals who managed to steal about N$15 000 in cash before fleeing the scene.

The crime was committed on Monday while Daniel was closing up shop at around 19:00.

Oshana police spokesperson Thomas Aiyambo said that the victim was in the process of locking up “as he usually does when they knock off” when he was suddenly cornered and hit by two men armed with knives.

“They demanded that he show them and unlock the safe where the money is kept, and when he refused, he was threatened with a knife forcing him to give in to their demand. He unlocked the safe and the suspects stole plus minus N$15,000.00,” said Aiyambo

He added that no one of the robbers was arrested but that none of the stolen money has been recovered.
