THE Namibian Bass Angling Association (NBAA) has this week send four professional anglers to compete at two upcoming international competitions in the United States of America.
The season anglers, Neil Engelbrecht and Johan Coetzee, have already left for Lake Cumberland, where they will compete as a duo tag team at the Costa FLW series against other countries for a total cash prize of N$1.8 million, as well as a chance to advance to the prestigious FLW Cup next year.
The FLW Cup brags the best 160 anglers in the world competing against each other for a share of more than N$29.14 million, with the winner walking away with N$4.37 million.
Engelbrecht holds 13 caps for his country and 16 years of experience in bass angling, while Coetzee has twice won the national title and has three caps to his name.
The other two, Thinus Williams and Jurgen Geiger will soon leave for the USA where they will compete at the upcoming Bass Nation tournament on Lake Hartwell in George, South Carolina.
The championship will take place from 6 to 8 November, whereby each angler will be paired with an angler from another country.
The final six anglers will be invited to compete at the Bassmaster Classic to test their skills against professional anglers
A press release from the NBAA, noted that the anglers will be greeted by a very familiar 160km body of water and that both anglers are more than capable of achieving the impossible.
