The Desert Jewells won the first match of Day Two at the tournament by beating Ireland with a score of 52 – 31 after drawing against host nation Singapore on the first match day.
The last time Namibia’s netball ladies participated at the tournament was in 2012. Seven years ago the Namibians attained third place in the tournament and the Desert Jewells are determined to improve on their previous performance.
The team will face the Cook Islands tomorrow and Papua New Guinea on Wednesday. On Friday the Namibians will take on Botswana, the only other African team in the tournament.
The final stages of the tournament will be played on Saturday.
