THE 42-year-old Paulus Katawu Kuutondokwa, a resident of Okandjengedi One in Oshakati, was killed instantly after the car he was driving was involved in a head-on collision on Tuesday evening.
The 23-yearold Johanna Munalye, the driver of the second vehicle, was rushed to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital here she stilis in a stable condition.
According to the spokesperson of the Namibian Police in the Oshana Region, Warrant Officer Frieda Shikole, the accident occurred at around 21:15 on the main road between Ongwediva and Ondangwa near Ekolanaambo-Adolf in the area of Ongwediva.
“It is alleged that a Toyota Yaris with an Outapi registration number collided head on with a Toyota Corolla with an Oshakati registration number. The driver of the Corolla came from the direction of Ondangwa and died on the scene of the crash.”
According to information obtained by Informanté, Munalye, was alone in the Yaris and was on her way to Ondangwa.
“She told investigators that just after she passed Opoto she saw the other car driving straight at her without any lights,” Warrant Officer Shikole said.
According to Warrant Officer Shikole the young woman could apparently do nothing to avoid the crash that resulted in the death of Kuutondokwa.
