Swakopmund Traffic Department better equipped to enforce law

THE Swakopmund Municipal Traffic Department took ownership of a fleet of eight brand new vehicles that will be used in the enforcement law in the holiday town.
The eight new Volkswagen vehicles, decked out in the colours and markings of the Swakopmund Traffic Department, was handed to the town’s traffic officials during a brief ceremony in the parking lot of the Municipal building on Thursday.
Chief of the town’s Traffic Department, Melvin Cloete, during a short speech thanked the Town Council for the vehicles that will help officials to fulfil their mandate to ensure the safety and security of visitors and residents.
The eight new traffic law enforcement vehicles were sourced from Autohaus Swakopmund at a cost of N$4 million.
