Scotland clinched a bonus-point by beating Samoa 34 – 0 and at the same time revived their hope of progressing further than the pool stages of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Scotland was in desperate need of the victory after their Pool A opening match defeat against Ireland.
Ireland’s stunning defeat against a very motivated Japanese team over the weekend stacked the odds against the men from Scotland even higher.
The Scots ran in two tries which were converted and were awarded two penalty tries. Further points were added by a drop goal and a penalty kick, ensuring a grand total of 30 points and the bonus point for Scotland.
