THE Brave Warriors pulled off a 2 – 0 win against Eritrea in front of a jubilant home crowd to progress through to the 2022 World Cup qualifier group stages.
Namibia will progress on a 4 – 1 aggregate score line after winning the first leg in Asmara with 2 – 1.

The second leg which played out at the Sam Nujoma stadium saw the home team keeping possession of the ball but failing to capitalise on them
In the 24th minute of the game, Eritrea couldn’t contain the pressure anymore as Ongwediva’s finest; Absalom Iimbondi broke through to the net to give Namibia the lead.
The second half saw Namibia once again controlling the midfield with Maestro Petrus Shitembi pulling the strings with great passes and crosses outward.
In the final minutes of the game, captain for the night, Highland Parks’ Peter Shalulie wraped up the win for Namibia.
Coach Bobby Samaria was ecstatic with the team’s performance saying that the boys knew what to do in order to get the job done.
“From the word go, we utilised our chances and now we are in through to the group stages. I told the boys to remain calm as we were in the driving seat and eventually the goals started to come,” said Samaria.
