At the time Daniel criticised the Namibian Law pertaining to bigamy and said the laws are obsolete and needed to be repealed.
Daniel even attempted to sue the state for malicious prosecution where he claimed millions of dollars as restitution. He failed in his attempt and has since claimed that the investigating officers are trying to implicate him in petty crimes in order to keep him from revealing the involvement of several senior police officers in drug trafficking and dealing in Namibia.
According to an officer close to the investigation into the bigamy matter, Daniel did not appear before court on the dates set on several occasions since his arrest on the bigamy charges and several warrants of arrest were issued by the presiding magistrate in this regard.
