THE 50-year-old Linea Panduleni Baseko is currently in a serious but stable condition in a Windhoek hospital after sustained serious injuries during a motor vehicle accident when the light pick-up truck she was driving left the road and overturned.
According to Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu the accident occurred late on Tuesday afternoon about two kilometres outside Usakos when the left rear tyre of the vehicle burst.
“Baseko was on her way to Karibib from Walvis Bay and was alone in the vehicle when the accident occurred. She lost control over the vehicle and it left the road after the tyre burst and ended up on its side.”
Deputy Commissioner Iikuyu said the driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Usakos State Hospital. Baseko was later transferred to a Windhoek hospital in serious but stable condition.
