THE 59-year-old Ellizabeth Vinindwe appeared in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court after members of the drug law enforcement division of the Namibian Police arrested her in her house with a large amount of Mandrax tablets and dagga in her possession.
According to Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu, members of the drug law enforcement division acted on information received from the public when they swooped in on the house in Sandfontein Street situated in the Kuisebmond neighbourhood of Walvis Bay on Tuesday.
“The accused person had 256 full Mandrax tablets and 100 grams of dagga hidden away in her house. The combined value of the illicit drugs is estimated to be $26 600.”
He said Vinindwa made her first appearance before the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and is charged with the possession and dealing in illicit drugs.
