THE Namibian Training Authority (NTA),under its VET Levy, has to date collected a total of N$1.65 billion.
Making a presentation today, NTA CEO,Jerry Beukes, stated the latest statistics for the third quarter shows a solid quarter-on-quarter growth in collections of the levy and that the Levy’s Collection is efficient and rigorous given the current economic downturn.
In Quarter 3, the Authority collected a total of N$97,973,085, excluding interest, compared to the N$93,826,815 collected during the second quarter.
The registration of 10 new employers is an encouraging development, while there were no deregistrations.
On a quarterly basis, the levy had a total of 27 employers in Quarter 1, while 10 employers registered brought the total to 33 employers in Quarter 3. Cumulatively, the levy has 2,859 employers registered.
Cumulatively, the VET Levy has collected N$1,493,684,532, excluding interest, and N$1,653,790,794 including interest. The growing of the levy is attributed to an Increase in timeous payments.
