THE Ukwaluudi Traditional Authority’s (UTA) King Josia Shikongo Taapopi has called on the government to upgrade the Omuguluwombashe road as it is a historic road and that it’s not safe for users.
King Taapopi made the request during the presidential town hall meeting held in Outapi on Tuesday.
Taapopi stated that the road from Epalela/Onesi/Tsandi/Omuguluwombashe was already complained about, however nothing has been until today.
It was reported that people in those areas have been cut off from basic services since 1990, because of the deplorable state of the roads in the region.
Omusati Regional Governor Erginus Endjala, stated that there is great concern regarding the delay in the upgrading of Epalela/Onesi/Tsandi and Tsandi/Omuguluwombashe road to bitumen standards.
“In addition the issues hampering the implementation of the project for Omakange-Onamatanga gravel road needs urgent attention,” cited Endjala.
Endjala stated that they had submitted appeal for the implementation of these road projects to improve the movement of people for commercial and leisure purposes.
