TWO nurses and the driver of the Ministry of Health and Social Services were injured when the ambulance they were travelling in on the road between Omaruru and Uis overturned on the gravel road.
According to the official police report provided by the Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu, the left rear tyre on the vehicle burst causing Lukas Shaanika, the driver, to lose control.
“The vehicle left the road and overturned as a result. Two nurses, Veronica Nowases and Ester Guriras along with the driver, sustained serious injuries and were transported by private ambulance to the Omaruru State Hosputal for further stabilisation and medical care. The victims are all in a stable condition.”
According to the report the incident occurred late on Wednesday afternoon.
