TRACKERS of the Namibian Police assisted by, a helicopter and the farming community of Dordabis to the east of Windhoek caught and arrested a third suspect who attacked a man and his wife in their house on Farm Peperkorrel on Thusrday night.
According to the Khomas Regional Police Commander, Commissioner Joseph Shikongo the third suspect was rounded during Friday afternoon.
“It seems we got the man behind the whole plan to attack the people on the farm n Thursday. The bakkie they abandoned when they fled on foot when they were accosted by members of the farming community and police reservists belongs to him,” Commissioner Shikongo said.
He said in the initial confusion it was reported that one of the farm attackers died after he jumped from the moving vehicle. It was later established that the suspect did not die but that he was critically injured.
“The second suspect was also injured after jumping from the moving vehicle and both the injured persons were admitted to a hospital in Windhoek under police guard,” he said.
He said the search for the two remaining suspects will continue until they are arrested.
The Namibian Police availed a helicopter, two dog tracking teams and members of the special reserve force to apprehend the suspects.
