THE Namibian Police Force in the Oshana region is calling on the public to assist in tracing unknown suspects that on Tuesday afternoon stole money in the amount of N$100 000 that belongs to a church.
According to the information provided by Warrant Officer Frieda Shikole from the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police in Oshana, the incident occurred around 12h00 at Woermann Brock in the Eluwa area of Oshakati.
“It’s alleged that unknown suspect got out of a white Toyota Corolla with tinted windows and walked over to a car belonging to David Hiwanua Nakashole. The suspects then took money which was kept under the seat of the car,” said Shikole.
Police further reported that the owner of the vehicle was in the shop when the robbery took place, but that he had left a small child in the car.
“The child then screamed for help during the robbery, which alerted people nearby,” explained Shikole.
The suspects ran to their getaway car and drove off before they could be identified.
Nakashole is a resident of Omufitu village in the Omungwelume district and the stolen money belonged to a church in his district.
It remains unknown where Nakashole was taking the money.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
