South Africa will be looking to avenge their 2015 Cricket Word Cup semi-final defeat when the meat New Zealand for a stiff clash in Birmingham in the current tournament.
At the same time New Zealand will aim to reclaim their position at the top of the 2019 Cricket World Cup table after England crushed Afghanistan and claimed the top spot on Tuesday.
South Africa, who suffered an unexpected loss to New Zealand in the previous one day international tournament, had a dismal start to their World Cup campaign, losing three straight games followed by a wash-out before registering their maiden win against bottom-placed Afghanistan.
In contrast, New Zealand are yet to be beaten in this year’s tournament and are lying second on the table with three wins and a washout.
While the stakes might not be as high for New Zealand when they take the field, for South Africa, the result would determine their contention for the race to the semi-finals.
