The Namibian Police via its public Relations Division issued a warning to the public that Anthony Palmer Daniel also known as Tony Daniel is using a fake Interpol identification document to swindle people out of their hard earned cash.
It has since came to light that the man better known as Tony Daniel have several bigamy cases pending against him after he married a woman from Cape Town while still married to a woman who resides in Rehoboth. He allegedly married the woman in Rehoboth while still married to a third woman who resided in Upington but has since passed on.
Informanté reported on the bigamy case against him when he was arrested in Okahandja where he married both the woman from Rehoboth and the other woman from Cape Town on two different occasions. At the time Daniel criticised the Namibian Law pertaining to bigamy and said the laws are obsolete and needed to be repealed.
Daniel even attempted to sue the state for malicious prosecution where he claimed millions of dollars as restitution. He failed in his attempt and has since claimed that the investigating officers are trying to implicate him in petty crimes in order to keep him from revealing the involvement of several senior police officers in drug trafficking and dealing in Namibia.
According to an officer close to the investigation into the bigamy matter, Daniel did not appear before court on the dates set on several occasions since his arrest on the bigamy charges and several warrants of arrest were issued by the presiding magistrate in this regard.
Daniel does not make secret of his whereabouts and has an active Facebook account which states that he resides in Rehoboth and that he is indeed a qualified cyber crime and law analyst.
Daniel even used his Facebook account to issue a media statement with regards to the allegations that he uses his fake Interpol ID to commit fraud and said: “With regard to the allegations frequenting the media, particularly social media, I wish to put the following in its true and proper perspective: I am a fully qualified Cyber Criminologist with access to state of the art equipment; My expertise in cyber criminology has no equal within the Namibian Police Force; For many years I have freely availed my services and expertise to Nampol and others; At no occasion have I misrepresented myself to anyone, and neither have I ever charged fees contrary to the provisions of any law.”
Daniel is not formally employed and it is alleged that he married the various women in his life to live off their income and that one of his wives informed the police about the bigamy which led to his arrest in Okahandja.
