WITH a Volkswagen showroom soon to open doors in the town of Oshakati of the Oshana region, Volkswagen owners are all set for the second edition of the competition which was introduced last year.
The idea of hosting the Volkswagen car competition initiative is aimed at promoting Volkswagen in Oshakati.
The event is being held for the second time and is expected to be an annual event in the region, with dreams of expanding it to other parts of the northern regions.
A parade of Volkswagen cars will be held from the Ongwediva Roadblock towards Oyamunyoko Bar in Oshakati, where three best models of Volkswagen vehicles will be selected in terms of design, neatness and maintenance done on the car.
According to the owner and organiser of the event, Sem Viera, the aim is to promote dealerships in the northern area.
“There is a lack of dealerships in Namibia and mostly in the northern area, this will help create a platform for car lovers to engage and have fun at one place,” said Viera.
“Hopefully this year we will get more people that will love to partake in the competition and showcase their cars,” he said, adding that registration has already started and is expected to conclude in November.
The winners are expected to walk away with great prizes.
