President welcomes the start of Operation Kalahari Desert

THE President of Namibia, Dr. Hage Geingob, lauded the launch of Operation Kalahari Desert and the intensified action by the combined forces of the country’s security cluster to ensure public order and the safety of citizens and visitors.
In an official statement issued by State House, Dr. Geingob said the special operation is an important endeavour in the ongoing fight against crime.
Operation Kalahari Desert was introduced after the successful conclusion on 10 May 2019 of Operation Hornkranz, which was launched by the President on 21 December 2018.
The Namibian Government intensified the fight against crime to ensure public order, safety of citizens, visitors and tourists.
Dr. Geingob requested members of the public to respect and cooperate with law-enforcement officials to rid the country of criminals.
The President wished Operation Kalahari Desert success in fighting crime and at the same time assured the Namibian public that law-enforcement agencies are under strict orders to carry out their duties diligently and within the confines of the law.
