HOST nation of the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), Egypt, won its opening match of the much anticipated tournament against Zimbabwe with 1 – 0.
The first goal of the tournament and the winning goal for Egypt was scored by Mahmoud Hassan, also known as Trézéguet, early in the second half of the match played at the Cairo International Stadium.

With stars such as Mohamed Salah, who won the UEFA Champions League trophy with Liverpool, Mohamed Elneny, Ahmed Elmohamady, Marwan Mohsen and Trézéguet, the Pharaohs brought their A game to the pitch.
