THE normal payment of social grants to pensioners and people living with disabilities has resumed after Ministry of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare managed to resolve the technical glitch that prevented the electronic transfer of funds to the accounts of recipients.
In a statement issued by the poverty eradication ministry’s Executive Director, Esther Lusepani, she informed all recipients that receive their social grants through NamPost and commercial banks and were affected by the technical difficulties can now go and withdraw their money as they normally do.
“NamPost payments are already ready for collection while those who receive the grants through their bank accounts will be able to access their money on Friday.”
Lusepani extended the ministry’s apologies for any inconvenience that may have been caused by the unforeseen delays in payment of social grants.
At the same time Lusepani urged all beneficiaries to ensure that these social grants are used for the welfare of recipients and their families.
