THE body of the 11-year-old Prince Samuel Pietersen was discovered on the beach at the mouth of the Omaruru River three days after he drowned while swimming in the sea in Henties Bay.

Pietersen disappeared in the sea on Sunday while he and three of his friends were playing in the surf at the popular public beach at the holiday town.

At the time of the tragic incident the three other boys panicked when they realised that their friend is in trouble and ran in search for help. By the time they found people to help them, the victim had disappeared under the water and a search for his body was launched.

According to the Namibian Police in the Erongo Region the body of the drowning victim was washed up on the beach several kilometres north of the place where he was last seen alive.
