THE directorate of education in Oshana for the Oshakati circuit concluded its first ever school tournament and expo, which was aimed at raising funds for the construction of a hostel at the Evululuko Secondary School.
The school tournament and expo was held last week Friday and concluded on Sunday, where 30 schools in the cluster partake.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Johanna Nakambonde, chairperson of the fundraising committee, said that the idea of the cluster expo and tournament is to meet government half way and raise fund for Evululuko Secondary School.
“Children are currently living in deployable condition and the having a hostel will reduce and prevent children from social event,” said Nakambonde.
According to her, with the little they get they will make a different and also ensure that they will make the tournament and expo and annual one.
She express satisfaction, saying that cooperation with schools was good and visitors came in number, despite late planning.
The event was sponsored by Oshakati Town Council, Asset Legacy Investment, Rural water supply and NamWater
