NPL games back in action

THE Namibian Premier League (NPL) is back in action for its second leg of games that are set to kick off over the weekend.

The league had a three weeks break, during which period some of the players took part in the Standard Bank top 8 semifinals, as well as AFCON qualifier games that saw Brave Warriors qualifying for the 2019 edition for the third time in history.

Currently leading the log standing, Black Africa will clash with Julinho Sporting on Friday at the Sam Nujoma stadium.

African Stars will also take on Life fighters on the same day.

On Saturday, Tura Magic will go up against Orlando Pirates, while Tigers will await the arrival of Okahandja United later in the evening at the Sam Nujoma stadium.

Sunday games will see African Stars clashing with Julinho Sporting and Tigers will go up against Life fighters later in the day.

On the top goal scorer charts in the NPL, Gurirab Isaskar is leading the front line by 11 goals, followed by Nawaseb Tevin who has 10 goals for the season. Julinho Sporting’s Francisco Almeida and Esterhuiseb Wayne from Young Brazilian are tied at eight goals each, followed by Ujaha Upengisa, Chrispen Mbewe and Rudath Wendell, all at seven goals each. Theophilus Junias and Omseb David are levelled on six goals each, while Katjiteo Roger and Muwanei Mapenzi are both on five goals .
