THE Namibia Hunting Rifle Shooting Association (NHRSA) concluded the sixth leg of the regional shooting competition where hunting experts showed their skills in shooting down five warthogs while using an ax-bag over with a ripper.
The competition took place at the Schützenverein Shooting grounds.
Despite the windy weather, the shooters had to make sure each shot was accounted for as it counts for points.
The course consisted of shooting at a Warthog, five shots each, while using an x-bag over a ripper and Zebra shooting from a standing position.
During a shooting course, shooters typically use long synthetic sticks, with some shooters preferring to lie down due to the wind conditions and shoot over the sticks or making use of a tree with an overhang or even shooting over a baboon cage wagon and a Bossies pillow.
Winners in the different classes were announced as follows: Stephanus Francois Marais Jnr, Stephanus Francois Marais Snr, Walter Kinnear, Christo van Rooyen, Dawid du Toit, Kihan Cocklin, Hanre Cocklin, Xander van Rooyen, JWF Kannemeyer, Francois Blaauw, Hennie Viljoen, Francois Marais Snr, André van Rooyen, Willie Langford: Hantie Louw, Tanya Cocklin, Bets-Marié Coetzee, Stephanus Francois Marais Jnr, Walter Kinnear, Gert Petrus Martins, Rome Mostert, Jacques Basson, JWF Kannemeyer, Tanya Cocklin, Sonnie Basson, Bets-Marié Coetzee, Stephanus Francois Marais Jnr, Walter Kinnear, Gert Petrus Martins, Stephanus Francois Marais Jnr, Walter Kinnear and Gert Petrus Martins.
