PRESIDENT Hage Geingob has appointed Mr. Jospeh Mukendwa as the new Commissioner of the National Youth Service.
The appointment of Mukendwa was announced in a statement issued by the Namibian Presidency.
The appointment of Mukendwa as the new NYS Commissioner will become effective on 1 October 2019 and according to the statement it was done and is in line with the National Youth Service Act (No 6 of 2005) Section 11(1). Mukendwa will serve in this position for the next five years.
Mr. Mukendwa holds a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Namibia and a Master of Business Administration from the Namibia University of Science and Technology.
According to the statement he brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served previously in several managerial capacities, including as the Regional Director of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, a position he held prior to this appointment.
Upon announcing the appointment President Geingob expressed confidence and trust in Mr. Mukendwa’s ability, commitment and fairness with which the new youth service Commissioner will discharge his duties and responsibilities.
