Namibia’s premiere lifestyle estate – Elisenheim will soon be adorned with a fully-fledged shopping Centre, adding an exciting element of convenience to a lifestyle of safety and tranquility.
The 200m square shopping Centre which is a joint venture by Trustco Properties and Oryx Properties was officiated by the Minister of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development, Tjekero Tweya who in his own right, congratulated Oryx Properties and Trustco Holdings Group for investing in the future of the Namibian housing.
Aptly named the Urban Village @Elisenheim, this development was planned and designed in such a way that it complements the beauty and tranquility of the Elisenheim Estate. The complex will include outlets such as Spar retail store, coffee shops, a pharmacy, restaurant as well as a health and fitness facility to cater for the needs of the Elisenheim residents. Many have described the place as the future residential area that is situated north of Windhoek. Eliseheim was declared a township in December 2011 to provide housing to more than 44 000 residents in the near future.
Minister Tweya applauded the brave initiative by the two giant companies in the quest to bring service closer to the people, especially during the tough economic times.
“I respect people who dream because they have life in them and this is important, especially in these tough economic crises that the real entrepreneurs emerged to create something,” he said.
Construction has kicked off with the last phase of the shopping center expected to be completed in February 2020, residents of the Elisenheim Lifestyle Estate can look forward to a new and relaxing way of shopping, which will be at the Centre of the township leaving residents with enough time in doing shopping right around the corner from the gated community.
Oryx Properties’ CEO, Ben Jooste highlighted the significance of the shopping Centre towards the township, stating that the Urban village is a convenience lifestyle village that has addressed the mandate of the Harambe Prosperity Plan.
“Our latest venture, Urban Village is an investment of N$110m and will create an estimated 300 jobs over the ten-month building period and an additional 200 jobs once the village is up and running in February 2020. We are extremely grateful that we are able to provide Namibians with much needed jobs while entrusting this job to a Namibian construction company who will ensure that no jobs will be lost and that our people are supported,” he said.
Marco Erasmus, Head of Insurance and Investment at Trustco Properties, on behalf of Dr. Quinton Van Rooyen, said that Trustco has been a key player in the Namibian economy for over 27 years.
“It is a privilege for Trustco properties to partner with Oryx properties with the development of the Urban Village and that this new development will greatly enhance the living environment of our residents and add value to the overall development of this Lifestyle Estate,” he said.
