RESIDENTS of Windhoek and the major towns in the North reported good rains that over the past 24-hour period.
Windhoek, Otjiwarongo, Oshakati and Ondangwa received welcome rain on Thursday afternoon while Tsumeb and other towns in the central northern parts of Namibia also received good rains on Wednesday.
Further to the south, Mariental also had some rain while residents of the area between Ariamsvlei and Karasburg also reported isolated rain showers.
No official measurements were available but most of the locations received more than five millimetres and in some areas of Windhoek and the north up to 20 millimetres of rain fell.
Although residents of the central and southern parts of the country have reported that the ambient temperatures in the mornings are starting to feel a little ‘colder’ hot and very hot conditions are forecast for the interior of Namibia. The forecast also indicates that thunder showers can be expected in the north west of the country
At the coast partly cloudy and mild weather conditions with fog patches in the morning are expected.
