This year, Namib Mills, through its Top Score brand, has invested N$200 000 in its first ever Top Score 7-a-side ‘Oshiwana’ (community) tournament which took started on Friday and concluded on Sunday.
“The aim of the tournament is to encourage people to use this social event to get together, build life-long friendships and to get to know each other,” Namib Mills’ senior brand manager, Marne Bouwer, said in a speech read on her behalf during the launch last Wednesday.
According to Bouwer, the original Top Score 7-a-side tournament was introduced to Oshakati some four years ago and they gave companies the opportunity to enter. Namib Mills has now, however, decided to bring it to the community, hence the name ‘Oshiwana.’
