The 44-year-old William Duncan McNab from Walvis Bay died tragically as a result of a motor vehicle accident on the road between Karibib and Usakos sometime during Saturday night.
Motorists driving between the two small towns in the Erongo Region discovered McNab’s body in the wreckage of his Toyota sedan vehicle early on Sunday morning.
According to Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu, the Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, the accident occurred about one and half kilometre outside Usakos while McNab was driving towards Karibib.
“McNab was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident and he passed away on the scene. It s suspected that the deceased person lost control over the vehicle before it rolled next to the road.”
Deputy Commissioner Iikuyu said the police was notified of the accident by a passing motorist on Sunday at about 07:00.
The incident at Usakos is the only fatal motor vehicle accident that was reported in the Erongo Region over the Easter Weekend.
