THREE children had to be taken to the safety of another home after a fight between their mother and father turned violent and eventually resulted in the death of the 30-year-old Lucina Isabella Quimbra.
According to Inspector Thomas Aiyambo of the Namibian Police’s public relations unit the couple was observed while fighting while on their way home from a bar in the Okandjengeti Location.
“What started as a friendly visit turned into an argument between the deceased person and the murder suspect at a bar in the Okandjengeti Location of Oshakati. The couple continued their fight on their way home and when they started fighting at the house the deceased person’s three children were taken to safety of a neighbour’s house.
Inspector Aiyambo said Quimbra’s lifeless body was discovered around 22:00 in her house in Okandjegedi.
“The deceased person had two visible open wounds on the left side of her face and another one in the head, she also had a broken right arm,” said Aiyambo, adding that suspected fled the scene after the brutal attack on the late Quimbra.
He was than arrested on Sunday evening at Etayi area of Ondimbwa Olyavahenge, in the Omusati Region
The suspect is set to appear in the Oshakati Magistrate Court this week on a charge of murder, while the police investigation into the matter continues.
